CHART: Sen. Grassley Questions Hospitals, Vendors About EHR Programs

Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa), ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, is asking 31 hospitals to report about their experiences installing and using electronic medical record systems. The inquiry comes as the government is planning to spend billions in stimulus funds to aid the expansion of this technology. Last October, Grassley queried 10 vendors about their electronic records systems based on complaints from patients, doctors and engineers. The list below includes vendors and hospitals that have been queried so far. Organizations highlighted in red have key officials who sit on federal advisory committees helping the government figure out how to switch to digital record keeping.
