Huff Fund on TV
Huffington Post Investigative Fund reporter Danielle Ivory appeared this morning on the TV program “Democracy Now” to discuss her investigation of the Environmental Protection Agency’s failure to inform the public that some drinking water in four states is laced with high levels of the weed-killer atrazine.
Ivory explained to host Amy Goodman that, “This was perfectly legal, but unfortunately the public was misled on the level of atrazine in their drinking water.”

Yesterday, a day after the Investigative Fund published Ivory’s story, the advocacy group Natural Resources Defense Council issued its report on atrazine. One of the authors of the NRDC report, Jennifer Sass, told The Washington Post that spikes in atrazine might lead to early-life-stage developmental problems. “If there’s a disruption during that time, it becomes hard-wired into the system,” Sass said. “These endocrine disrupters act in the body at extremely low levels. These spikes matter.”
